Bad Work can Take Years to Fix
Our Patient began his repair with Dr. Cole in November of 2009. Today he is having his fifth repair surgery to add more density on top and even out areas in his donor. Previously he had two strip surgeries which resulted in thinning of his donor in the back and sides of his head. He also had FUE performed at another clinic where they used a very large punch. We have filled in some of the dotting in the back. Dr. Cole moved some of his scalp hair around to even out the density. Most of his result is from chest and beard hair. He has had over 2,000 beard hair grafts transplanted to date.

Since our patient began having his repair work with Dr. Cole, he has received 5931 Chest and stomach hair grafts. Dr. Cole always prefers scalp hair. When it's in short supply, the next best choice is beard hair. The last choice is chest and stomach hair. Chest hair growth is the least reliable and that is why we strongly recommend that those considering doing chest and stomach hair do a small test session. Our patient pictured above returned this morning for additional work. This morning our patient told me that his donor area was once so bad, he would use a black permanent marker to dot the scars that showed through his hair. He gave me a bit of his personal philosophy regarding success. He told me that when he starts something he sees it through no matter how long it takes. I mentioned to him that I am sometimes asked why you don't see many slick Norwood 6 patients with a full head of hair considering ACell and the extended donor FUE allows. We find that most men who were severely bald get a level of relief from hair loss and they're satisfied. They don't want to spend the time or money to take it to the limit. Our patient shown here is an exception to that common limit. His goal is to wear a high and tight hair style. Today Dr. Cole is focusing on grafting into his scars from previous surgeries.
He really looks better in person than he does in photos. Please call for pricing per graft.

Few More Pics
Here are a few more photos of our patient. Dr. Cole focused mainly on the top of this man's head in the past while placing a few grafts in his scars. I really expected his head to look severely scarred after the sides of his head were shaved yesterday. I was very surprised at how good his donor area looked with only a minimal number of grafts placed there over the last few years. Yesterday 12-11-2013, Dr. Cole really went after the visible scarring in the donor. As I mentioned, our patient's goal is to wear a high and tight cut. I wouldn't have thought that possible. Have a look at his scars before we began grafting into them. This type of scarring is more common than you might think.
