Paranoia or something real?

I've had an off and on fear of my hair falling out for a few years now.
It got so bad at one point that I cut my hair, once halfway down my ass, to what I believe was a number 7 or 6 just to see.

I've been letting it grow back out and everything seems ok, except every so often I get glimpses of my scalp while in the bathroom.

To be fair my roots are decently light and the lighting in our bathroom is fairly harsh, four of those big globe bulbs, and it doesn't really look like it is an issue in other places.

So I am sorry if I am fine, but this bothers me more than I care to admit and is a massive hit to my confidence.
