    Don't think so, unfortunately.

Okay that sucks then I guess we do the usual waiting game. This quote is the million dollar question can you do anything about it safely and how important is this pathway given all the other things affecting MPB

“Conversely, if delivered in a limited, safe and controlled way, agents that activate Wnt signalling might be used to promote hair growth in dormant hair follicles in conditions such as male pattern baldness.”

This is such old news. DKK-1. These studies have been around for years now:
    http://www.nature.com/jid/journal/v1.../5700999a.html
    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22358062

Move on from this. It's not a cure.
http://www.renokin.com/index.php?pgn.../sub_mechanism even the bullshit products already tried to "fix" it.

Lets give balding men and women a glimmer of hope by bringing up old news.

The writers of these articles should be FIRED.

Thanks for the links to the other articles. It is interesting that this recent study is more of a continuation of other research and not something brand new.

However, the fact that some fly by night companies have tried to sell some (as you described it) "bullshit products" that they claim is based on these findings does not discount the possibility that some legitimate treatment could be developed in the future that is based on these findings.

FYI I called it a bullshit product because I tried it and it didn't do shit. You're just paying for the fancy ass bottle it comes in

I just don't know what to make of Follica. They seem to be on to something and I can't understand why they would make the claims they made in June if they didn't have anything.

Looking at their press release patterns, they might lets us know in 2014 or more likely 2015 how the fgf9 thing is working out. If it does go well we can be very optimistic about the whole thing.

Yeah I agree here we dont know the magnitude of this yet. Some crappy product which very well might not work does not really represent the potential of this pathway. Could still be really big regardless of those stupid companies trying to cash in on buzzwords. Im sure plenty of natural things influence it slightly so they can claim it works through whatever mechanism they want, doesnt mean it works.
Its just like the 20 different topical AAs that dont work but claim they lower or alter DHT. Does not mean androgens/DHT is not important just because some crap products dont work.

    I agree

Ugh. I have srsly contemplated making/marketing a snake oil treatment for hair loss. I have read so much about this crap that I think I could make the advertising/product literature convincing
However my hatred for all the snake oil salesmen I have seen overt he years makes me not want to become 1 of them
