    Default 9 Month Update

Better late than never here is my 9 month photos from my latest hair transplant with Dr Hasson for 1755 grafts to the frontal half of my scalp. The difference is clear to myself as I look in the mirror and I am very glad that I took Dr Hasson's advice to deal with the front rather than the crown. In terms of healing my scalp after five FUT sessions feels normal again and I am still able to cut my hair to a reasonable length. I could never go down to a grade 3 or 4 because of my previous scars but I am happy with the length I can wear it at the back and sides.

There still remains a sweet spot in terms of length of the top and it seems better to wear it shorter than I used to as the density is better at the front I don't need the length to make it look fuller. Also where the crown is thinner it is easier to keep it shorter and it lays flatter on my scalp.

Feartheloss- I won't be going for anymore SMP to fill in it looked great initially but faded very fast. I would love some more on the crown to fill in around 2000 grafts would work a treat but I haven't got much more hair to move. Thanks for your comment.

91jmcginnes- Thanks very much if you love the detail you are going to love the next post!

    Default Timeline Comparision 1 - 9 Months 3 Angles

I have had several comments about how helpful it is to see photos month by month from the same angle next to each other so it is easy to compare the progress month on month so I made these 3 photos so it would be even easier to compare.

It demonstrates how taking consistent photos under the same lighting, same room and conditions is the best way to clearly document your progress.

David, You asked for feedback regarding the hairstyle. I'd say, the 8 month hairstyle suited you better than the 9 month one.

Looks great. I think with toppik or hair fibers, your crown can get full coverage. Hairline (which is more important than the crown for appearance) looks great.

Are you on any medication now? I want to get a HT, but want to avoid taking finasteride as I already deal with ED. I have no problems with minoxidil though. Currently, I'm NW 2.5 to 3 with my widow's peak having gone up a little higher and in the beginning stages of crown thinning.

Rhysmorgan, Thanks for the feedback I appreciate it and agree with you it's just my hair is going through the very wavy stage currently once the new hairs settle down I will be able to style it a bit better.

JKSL- For sure if I wanted to go down the route of wearing fibres then I could get the appearance of a whole thick head of hair and I have done this in the past but I stopped using Nanogen a few years back as I just don't have the desire or need to use it anymore I am not chasing perfection.

Yes I have been on Proscar for 8 years now. I understand your reluctance to try it considering your situation it really depends on how aggressive your loss is and how old you are? But if the crown has started to thin then I expect it will only continue to go one way unless you try the medication. You should take some photos in good lighting from angles like I do today and again every 6 months to see how your loss is progressing.

Looks brilliant mate, congratulations! I actually met you once in 2011, so I can see the difference with the new grafts, it looks great, it really does. Personally I think the swept back style suits you, and you should keep the beard too, it makes you look like the actor Liev Schrieber (which is weird, because I don't think he usually has a beard). All the best.

    Hi Clee,

Thanks very much for the feedback, you are right the extra density in the frontal third has made a really good improvement. I agree regarding the hairstyle brushed up and back as it makes me look a bit younger if it wasn't for all the grey hair in the beard!

Not a bad call on the Liv Schrieber I have not had that before but I can see where you are going with that. Cheers.

Congrats on your surgery with Dr F the results look great.
