HT without drugs
I'm 44 currently about a Norwood 6, I'm interested in a HT but I'm not interested in long term proscar or rogaine. Anyone out there like me not on drugs?

Being a NW 6 it doesn't sound like meds would benefit you really - other than possibly strengthening donor supply. Speak to a recommend surgeron is the best advice but many guys venture down the HT route with success who are high on the NW scale and do not take meds.

wild bill,
I have worked with a number of NW 6's over the years that did not use any hairloss meds but they also had "outstanding" hair caliber, wave, and above average density. One's overall hair characteristics and donor permanency are the critical factors with class 6's. It's just that you don't see that many class 6's with those "above average" characteristics.
On the other hand, if the individual had extremely thin hair caliber and no wave with low density, I would say don't even get started with surgery unless that person had extremely conservative goals.
