Recommended Shampoos and Conditioners

Having done a bit reading online I started doing minoxodil 2x a day, nizoral shampoo 3x per week, 1 capsule of saw palmetto per day (an alternative medicine remedy that your probably already familiar). I think this is a sustainable regimen in that it isn't demanding of time or money. I don't like the sound of some the side affects of propecia and even though I'm willing to spend a certain amount to fend off balding its not like money is no object. Likewise for any crazy health effects, there is a limit to the lengths I'm willing to go to. Worst case scenario: shave head.

Anyways, I read consistently at a couple of independent sources that guys do nizoral 3x a week. I'm assuming that there is some reason that they don't do it everyday. Does it possibly dry out the scalp?

I'm left wondering what these guys that have invested rather heavily in online research of balding, what do they use to shampoo the other 4 days of the week? Or do they just use regular old vanilla shampoo? I have in the past used a shampoo and conditioner that contained saw palmetto, hard to say if it was doing any good or not. Do you you have shampoo or conditioner recommendations or this a non-issue for you with regard to efforts to contain balding?
