miniaturized hair length

So I know the basics. But i'm unclear if miniaturized hair has a stunted length. For example, regular hair can grow up to 4-5 feet with ease. While miniaturized hair can only grow 2-3 inches at most.

Basically, can a miniaturized hair be as long as a normal hair. I have longish hair and I have some odd hairs at the corners and edge of my hairline that are long ,a bit coarser, and stick out a bit; BUT they are also similar length to the rest of my hair (8~inches)

Could it just be bad hair care?

In addition to thinning in diameter, miniaturizing hair will be shorter yes. Male pattern baldness decreases the duration of the growth phase, so your hair will not grow as long before shedding and come back weaker.

Once hairs have reached their last cycles, they begin to miniaturize. You will also notice that miniaturizing hairs have significantly less pigment. Not all hairs are in the same phase at the same time. All hairs are in a growth cycle which is why there is temporary loss of the hair. Hairs certainly have a limited number of cycles.

Many patients are attracted to medical therapy because it prolongs the active hair growth cycle. You are giving your hair a better chance to live as it continues to grow.
