Uncommon transplant question
I'm volunteering on ski patrol this winter, working in emergency medicine for my med school app. My question is, after I have a 1400 graft fue done to my hairline, how long will I need to go without a stocking cap/ or light ski helmet? And how many days after surgery can I return to active ski patrol?
Thanks, FTL

You should really be talking to your clinic about this as you don't want to stray from their specific post-op instructions. However, if you were our patient we'd tell you that you could go back to wearing a toque or knit hat no less than one week post-op or as soon as the scabs come off, whichever comes first.

I haven't picked which FUE doctor I would like to go ahead with yet, although I've had quite a few consultations. I don't want it to keep me away from work too long.
I greatly respect your opinion Joe, as well as Hasson and Wong's as they are obviously some of the best in the industry. Would you say that after about 12-13 days I could be pretty sure that my grafts are there to stay, so wearing a light ski helmet with a toque underneath wouldn't be an issue?
Thanks so much for your advice.

Glad to help. Wearing a toque or knitted cap is one thing but wearing a helmet is entirely different. You should wait a full two weeks minimum before wearing a helmet because it isn't just the helmet that causes issues but also the amount of vibration that would occur from being on the slopes.

Okay sounds good, thank you very much for your help.
