Yes, otherwise why would we still be talking about a cure? We would already have it.

I was hoping that it was impossible to go completely bald if one was taking Finasteride from early on.

I also thought that the only people who didn't more or less keep their hair, were the people who got side effects or never even took Finasteride.

I have a lot riding on this medication but some days the future doesn't look too bright.

if you hop on it early enough there is hope...it will all depend how agressive your loss is. You may need something like dut years down the road if your MPB overpowers fin

It works for most people. How long is hard to say..some only a few years some 15 years and still working fine.

Also don't worry that you started receding at 17 because that DOES NOT mean you will bald quickly. Yes some say if you start losing hair early you will bald faster but that is certainly not always true. I started at 17,,,but probably around 15 and I still have much more hair than some of the guys I grew up with who didn't lose hair till much much later.

So just use it and see how it goes..and give it at least a year. Good luck.

    Yeah, fingers crossed.

At least I always have Dutasteride to fall back on, but that's as far as I'd go.

It's just annoying seeing those posts of people who swear they kept shedding on Finasteride. I started taking this pill thinking it would at least maintain for a few years.

Thanks for letting me know about your hair loss, hopefully mine is meant to follow a similar pattern.

    Also @mpb,

how bad was your balding at 17? I have very receded temples, pushing past a NW2 and it might just be in my head but I'm thinning a little on top. Still got coverage though.

How did yours look like at 17?
