Very happy with FUE treatment with Dr Feriduni

I had FUE treatment of 1300 grafts in the zone 1/2 regions of my forehead by Dr Feriduni a few weeks ago. My experience was very positive!

My hair transplant journey started without a lot of background research on both techniques and surgeons. Read about people's unfortunate and bad experiences and learn from these. I exchanged several emails with Spex, and read his blogs / watched his videos before I fully trusted his advice.

As a doctor myself (not a hair transplant specialist) I can’t reiterate enough that the most important part of any hair transplant treatment (or surgery of any kind for that matter) is PLANNING for now and in the future, and managing one’s EXPECTATIONS especially if you’re under 30 years old and having a hair transplant. I genuinely respected Spex / Feriduni’s honesty and rationality. Sadly during consultations with other HT surgeons in London I felt that many are out there to make money rather than do what’s best for me. If you have consultations you will begin to learn about the maximum number of donor hair grafts, and planning how to use these most efficiently and effectively requires careful planning by someone experienced in the field – and each answer is individualized depending on how much hair you have lost, whereabouts you’ve lost the hair and your age. You don’t want to use all the donor grafts in one go. And the number one rule of hair transplant is doing the front of the head first. Studies have shown that the perception of baldness is based on the front of the face – not the back – i.e. if you have a good hairline and a bald crown your face will look good and the perception of baldness is reduced.

Regarding the Feriduni Hair Clinic, the set up is ace. I went to Hasselt, Belgium. The hotel was excellent and got a free night stay and they upgraded my room. Free taxi from hotel to clinic. Clinic staff warmly welcomed me and kept on offering me food and drink! Feriduni himself gave me a prolonged consultantion in his office before we started, allowing me to ask as many questions as I liked, and making a 10 year plan on what is best to do if I loose more hair in other regions. He took many photographs and drew on my head to help demonstrate what he can do, before we agreed on the number of transplants to go for and in which region. He ensured I was content with this. The procedure itself involves shaving off your hair which is recommended as it makes insertion of grafts easier. I was worried about returning to work less than a week later, but it wasn’t really recognizable in terms of redness or bruising by about day 4 or 5 post op. My procedure was done in about 5 hours. They used intravenous sedation and injections of local anaesthetic in the donor and recipient regions. The only painful part of the procedure is injection of local anaesthetic above the eyebrows and in the forehead, which is where you have a lot of nerves – now I know what people with botox go through! After the hair transplant, it is imperative to stick to Feriduni’s post operative plan for 14 days. He gives you a table of exactly which creams/sprays/analgesia/antibiotics to use on which day and how often. It’s important to stick to this so that your newly transplanted hair is well nourished and embeds well in its new environment. Tenderness is largely gone with 4 or 5 days. Feriduni gives you his personal contact details after the procedure in case you want to call him about operative complications. The clinic also offer a check-up the day after the procedure to help remove bandaging and wash your hair.

Overall I would go back to Feriduni, and I very much thank Spex and the Feriduni team for their input over the last few months. If you have any queries I encourage you to contact them for email advice or a consultation.
