Crowdfund a position in Tsuji Labs?
I suggest we
1. find out if Tsuji Labs could speed up their work with more funding
2. Ask if Tsuji's current investors would welcome more investment (possibly diluting their position, but also possibly speeding up their return and also lowering their risk per potential dollar of profit)
3. then crowdfund a "fund" of $1-5 million and get a stake in tsuji while speeding up a cure. Crowdfunders would own a position in the fund, which owns a position in Tsuji, so effectively we'd own a position in tsuji.
We would have to answer the first question, then the second, and also would have to wait for Title III of the jobs act to be put in place by the SEC in the US.

I don't know about ownership. Isn't this a state funded research project anyways?
The funding though is a great idea. We would have a lot to benefit from their discoveries even without ownership, and even outside of the hair loss world

Yes the Tsuji labs belong to the Tokyo University!

ah, that's a shame in the sense of gaining ownership.
However, we could very easily donate funds that are earmarked for a specific study and contingent on it being started soon.

Exactly
We can't hope to put any constraints on what they do though. It would have to be a donation with no strings attached.

I would do this and I thought we should've done something like this with Aderans. Just so long as they release their product much sooner than 10 years. I can't afford to wait 10 years.

I think we could could put some strings on it. It's not out of the ordinary for "donations" to be earmarked in this way.

The most important question is 3. All of these crowdfund threads pretend like raising millions of dollars is easy, and essentially a given.

anything that comes from this will be yearas away before hitting the market. Mice to human studies takes about 5 years, then you're looking at 10 years of clinical trials.

Uh... never have I said an initiative like this is easy. I've been perfectly clear that crowdfunding requires determination and the support from all of us as a group effort. And given how things have gone with so many pessimistic naysayers, its likely NOT going to happen because most people on the forums (and probably elsewhere) would rather sit around and wait for a miracle to happen rather than take matters in their own hands.
I'm not going to pursue a project like this if the community is as lazy as it has been.
