What can I get with $1000?
Yes I understand that won't get me a tonne of grafts, but I'm not looking to go back to NW0
I've stabilized my hairloss(i havent lost hair since beginning propecia over a year ago) and am stuck in this NW3 territory.
My hair looks pretty mediocre, but if I boosted even to a NW2 I would like it alot more!
so whats the best I can get for around that price? 300 grafts?

As a NW3, 300 grafts will do two things. Jack and squat: The best thing you can do with 1000.00 is put into a savings account set up for future surgery. Anyone taking your case for 1000.00 just wants to empty your wallet.

Plain and Simple: Good FUE Doctors charge around $8 per graft... so you will get only 125 grafts. Let's be optimistic and say that you will get 2-3 hair per graft... that will be between 250 to 375 hairs... not much at all.
I don't think any good doctor will even think in a FUT for that amount of grafts (cheaper $2-$3 per graft).

rdawg,
The other factor not mentioned is that you could sustain shock loss when grafting amidst a volume of native hair. And if some of that native hair is diffusing, it is more susceptible to shock.
This could conceivably begin to move your present hairline into a more regressive pattern of loss. You're now left in a position of chasing more loss.
$1,000 worth of grafts whether FUHT or FUE will not make hardly any visual difference or visual gains. Not worth it.
Do you have some pics that you can put up for an opinion?

Yes, I think so.
With $1k or less, you can get a really good wig. I've seen these Canadian guys on youtube who made this guy look like 20 years younger with an undetectable wig.
I think it was this one:

When I saw it, it almost made me want to go that route.
So yeah, I thought that comment was helpful. It's definitely a legit option.

It's a last resort type of thing, yes. But it's legit, and it's definitely an option. I would have said "Get a hair tattoo", but I think those are like $4k.

1000$ every 6 months because you have to replace the thing every now and then you know. Did you think you could just buy one hair piece for your whole life?
2000$ a year, in 5 years you reach the cost of a high quality transplant, and you still have no hair.
People on hair loss forums still have to realise that hair pieces are more expensive than hair transplants.
