Musings on genetics
Was pondering something on genetics and was interested to hear some thoughts of members. My basic question is whether people have found that their mpb has matched a pattern/rate experienced by an older family member (particularly where they only have one relative with mpb)? Or did they inherit a mix of traits from both sides? I'm just asking for general thoughts; obviously there is no definitive answer on how genes will work in a given case.
To explain my position, I am just starting to diffuse thin at 22. My maternal grandfather seemed to go through something similar at the same time - progressing to an nw5 by about 30 - although I seem to be in better shape than he was at the same age. My dad and his dad still have full heads of hair.
My gut feel is that I will most likely closely mirror my mom's dad loss rate and pattern. But I'd really like to hope my dad's genes might assist, at least a little.
Thoughts?

It's random. I got it from my dad.
Funny thing is my mom's dad was bald and my dad's dad had full head of hair. My uncles/cousins on mother's side have excellent hair and I am NW-IV. Life sucks ..
