Default Laser comb shedding, does this mean it's working?

So I've been using the hair max laser comb for well over a year now and can't say I have seen much benefits besides maybe better hair quality. About two months ago I started getting lazy with it and hardly used it, maybe once a week or less. I noticed my hair starting to look thinner and slightly increased shedding so I figured I'd start back up and get back to using it regularly. I've gone into overkill and started using it about 5 days a week and also began using it right out of the shower as it is said to work best on a wet scalp.

Since increasing my usage about a month ago, I've started to shed quite a bit. Today was really bad with far over 100 hairs shed. Could this mean the laser comb is actually more powerful at stimulating hair than I thought. I was previously using it 3 times a week and barely noticed any increase in initial shedding. I know experience with the laser comb is limited as it's not a hugely popular treatment, but does anybody have an opinion as to whether the laser comb is potent enough to stimulate hair enough to cause a pretty noticeable shed? And is this a good thing?

By the way I didn't mean to put this under hair transplant: start your own topic, I meant to click men's hair loss: start your own topic. I'm not sure if threads can be moved once they're created but I would still definitely appreciate any opinions. Thanks.

Lasers are still relatively new regarding treating MPB. There are many manufacturers and each present their own claims, most of which are extracted from consumer testimonials, not necessarily clinical data or evidence to support the claims being made.

Albeit I have heard similar experiences to yours regarding the shedding and robust hair quality. Some lasers are recommended for facilitating the healing process immediately post-op while minimizing scar tissue during the healing process.

Other variables are frequency of use and results over the long term. Can prolonged use and or frequent use stimulate or induce a shed? Of course they can. Is it a good thing? Depends what type of shed that is going on.

Lasers like some hair loss meds can and will induce shedding especially when initially used. The stimulation can potentially cause the hair follicles to either retreat into a resting phase or can stimulate a resting follicle into the growth phase. Sometimes we will read about guys who experience some regrowth as a result of using hair loss meds or lasers and this is usually regressed dormant follicles stimulated to the growth phase. Yet that regrowth may not be as robust as terminal hair and it may appear more fuzzy or diffused in characteristic.

If you choose to continue the laser, be sure to do so under the supervision and direction of a qualified licensed physician experienced in working with lasers for hair. If you are using the laser more often than recommended, it could potentially end up doing more harm than good.

And let's not forget that lasers can also be potentially used to remove unwanted hair as well.
