Default New to all this, help needed pics inside

Hi peps sorry I'm new to all this and need you guys help

My names Matt I'm 24 and have been receding since I was about 17 and have only just started reading in to ways to help the situation. I have a brother with full head of hair but baldness is in the family.

I just can't accept baldness and that's just me so would like some advice please.

Looking at my hair and reading up it seems like it's down to DHT (I made this assumption through the shrinking in hair I have)

I am on NO meds etc yet and am an active healthy person with a decent diet.

These pics where taken a few days ago. Any advice on what can be started, taken or what can and can't be saved would be helpful.

Looking at these pictures is it safe to assume the shrinking of hair I due to DHT?

This is my hair style ATM which I'm trying to grow out but you can see the fine hair below my fringe

What's the chances if getting this back? Thanks

I would say it's safe to say that you have MPB and should get checked out by a doctor who knows about hair loss. Propecia should be considered if you really want to slow things down. Just read about the potential side effects and discuss them with your doctor.

Thanks, I will be going to see someone to discuss what's with trying, been told I should try Minoxidil and I could see the shortened hair grow back to length? I've read about the sexual side affects but I have a massive sex drive and hope that it wouldn't affect me as much

Thought I'd post some better pictures of the shrinkage of the bar at the front, this is my main concern and don't expect to grow hair back in my temples but if I can get these to grow back I'd be more the happy. Are these shrinking due to DHT? Will Minoxidil do the trick (or try to)

It definitely looks like very typical male pattern baldness which his thought to be caused by DHT among other factors. So yes, it does look like your hair is "shrinking" from DHT. Minoxidil might do the trick if that's how you want to start. Just talk to your doctor about it all of your options.

I hate when I see pics likes this. Totally reminds me of myself when I started losing hair.

Do yourself a favor and DON'T read up on fin sides. See your Dr. or a Derm and let them explain the potential sides to you. If you go too far researching sides you scare yourself away from treatment. If you don't want to go with the fin route I would at the very least use minox even on the hair line.

Just hate it because it reminds me of when my hair started to get bad. I could no longer style it the way I wanted. It is not that I couldn't save my hair, I never gave treatments a shot. I was ignorant of the treatments that were out there. I started losing my hair in 2000. In 2000 the only thing on the internet was porn. Sites like this did not exist. I had no idea what treatments were out there, so I went to see my Dr and he basically told me there was nothing I could do. Soon after that I just started buzzing my head and lived with it for all these years. Fast forward 13 years and I am fighting for every hair left on my head.

You are in way better shape then I was when I started this fight. You still have plenty of hair on your head and with treatment can probably get back some of what you lost. Like I mentioned before get info from a professional when it comes to minox and fin. Don't fall into the same trap that many do by researching sides and scaring themselves away from the effective treatments.
