Complacency has noting to do with it. Progress in all fields of medicine is slow and it's not for a lack of trying to improve treatments.

The "war" on cancer with all of its funding, publicity and social awareness has garnered very little in the way of blanketed treatments. Chemo therapy has been around since the early 1940's and while it has been altered with different drugs it still works in the same haphazard way.

That's where you're wrong, cancer has already been cured long ago. I have seen a few documentaries where they can cure 3/4 of the people with cancer, just that those damn greedy companies and corrupted FDA won't let anything get in the way of them making billions in profits.

I'm not going to believe that a cure for hair loss could not be made available TODAY. I'm certain the lobbying shitheads would do everything in their power to convince the FDA to stall any further progress or a commercial product.

A man has been sent to the moon... milions of transistors have been put on a CPU in a mobile phone that is more powerful than all the computers combined used to send a man to the moon, we've cloned sheep, smashed atoms at near light speed, cured cancer, etc.

I don't believe for a second that hair loss can't be cured today. That, to me, is complacency and allowing to go by through life ignorantly thinking 'oh well, maybe within 5 years'. I won't stand for that. Total bullshit.

You bet. Many have won their battles. Lance Armstrong defeated it TWICE. I'd like to see him conquer balding ONCE.

Steve Jobs died from cancer and he had all the money in the world...and he was bald.

What about M'soft CEO Steve Balmer, looks like he could benefit from Pilofocus...he is like NW8 and still balding...

              Steve Ballmer going crazy

Are you a retard. Lets be positive here and express what the price should be / is. The price is $5 or less per graph.

That is reasonable!!! Lets all just start saying that.

Payday: First off, you're a solid poster and I respect you for that. But complacency really has everything in the world to do with why we don't have an effective treatment for hair loss. At least with regards to cancer, many people/companies are at least trying to cure cancer through newer and more innovative methods. But with regards to hair loss, I can literally count on one hand the number of companies trying to develop more effective treatments for hair loss.

It seems to me that the majority of people within the hair loss industry are absolutely complacent and not willing to do anything substantial to innovate. All they seem to be concerned with is making loads of money off of hair transplantation and not innovating in any way, shape, or form (unless it is some derivative of a hair transplant).

I also realize that hair transplantation is an elective, cosmetic procedure, but when compared with other cosmetic procedures, it is ridiculously expensive. Lastly, I hope this doesn't seem like I'm attacking you bro; you seem like a good guy and a solid poster.

I totally agree with you. But in your aforementioned industries, at least there were massive concerted efforts towards innovation. Within the majority of hair restoration field, there only seems to be a concerted effort to preserve the status quo. Just look at that ISHRS program in this thread. There are symposiums on virtually every ridiculous aspect of transplantation yet only miniscule amounts of time devoted to possible cures/regeneration.

And the most glaring thing: the head of the ISHRS, Carlos Puig, is a well-known butcher who has been disfiguring poor souls for like 30 years. There are multiple websites detailing his shoddy past yet he winds up as the President of the ISHRS. Talk about corruption.

I had no idea Hair transplants were SO EXPENSIVE!!!

You'd think these doctors would be happy to make $30,000 for one days work! What is happening in this god damn industry! <SIGH>
Desmond, you're totally right as usual. This HT industry is totally f****d and needs to be turned on its ass like cheap $2 whore. Sorry about the profanity, moderators

Artista, have you heard anything recently about a possible release date? Is pilofocus still on track to be released the end of 2013? or is it going to be delayed because of the added trial?

Hi FearTheLoss , Im sorry but I haven't any idea of specific time frames.
I would imagine that Dr Wesley may discuss that as well at the conference in October.
Dr. Wesley will be contacting me at some point to set up my phase test day.
I will of course update you all once that does happen.
I really cant wait to meet with him in person and to be one of his test patients!

In terms of a scarless procedure, doesn't John Cole's CIT already do this? Does anyone have experience with him?
