Default Hair cut - shorter than usual

Just had my hair cut, got it cut a lot shorter than usual - not intentionally but whatever. So, decided to get home and have a check at the part that bothers me.

    I got this:

Went to a derm last year, who said my hair was fine with no hair loss, prescribed me Ketopine (I think) for my scalp as it's inflamed and scabby. My hair, and scalp hasn't changed from last year I don't think - I just think it looks worse since my hair is short. I don't know. My hair doesn't look like this when I use mirrors. My hair is damp in those pics, some with flash, some without, but what do you think? In comparison to my dry - albeit lesser quality pics, as I used a webcam:

I don't know it looks like that as my hair is straight and blonde. But either way, I don't like it and dunno if it's a problem or just 'the way my hair is'.

My hairline is a V shape, and I'm not a fan of it but there's no thinning. Family members say it's the same - I don't know if they're just saying that, but either way, V shape with no thinning is mature. I'm just worried about overall diffuse thinning.

I took a couple pics a week or two ago of the bath after I'd had one. These are the hairs in the bath. I've had to higher up the contrast so you can see them.

So yeah. Replies would be great cos I'm confused at the moment. And I hate this hair cut.

Go enjoy life and come back when you have some real problems. You can take that as a compliment. I know people are going to say you need to employ the kitchen sink approch once you dip below a NW1, but I am anti-fin.

Monitor it, takes pics once a month to see if it gets worse.

The reason some people feel that "today's hair loss treatments don't work" is because they take the approach of waiting till they are NW3+ to start doing something about it. Today's treatments are mainly preventive drugs, with only some lucky people who actually get near full recover or acceptable recovery. If you don't want to go bald, you have to start treatment when you are not bald yet, makes sense? When you are already balding aggressively, and get on hair loss meds, you are just going to probably slow down your hair loss. The trick is to catch MPB at its early stages, when it's not aggressive yet, but only noticeable to you.

    Keep this in mind.

Yeah dude don't worry about it. You are definitely a few years away from being a NW4 or worse. No need to worry about it until then. By that time there will definitely be treatments available to get all your hair back.

    But seriously, follow PatientlyWaiting's advice.

Thanks for the replies. Here's another pic to judge my hair. My hair is dry, though I have product in - I tend to always wear product because of the texture of my hair, it's sticks out as it's straight, so I need to wear something to flatten it. This is just after getting up this morning, so I've not wash my hair or anything.

oh, and here's a pic from 2 years ago. it's cached so not a great quality photo, but it's all I have. It's when I started to worry about my crown and top of my hair.

well, you are thinning at the mid of your scalp that i can see. but there is no way i can say it is mpb or it is normal. how old are you and do you have a history for mpb ?

I'm 23. I joined three years ago in response to my concerns over my crown and mid section of scalp, and I can't tell if it's the same/worse, hence me posting that pic from two years ago. I deleted loads, from both my HDD and my Photobucket accounts etc.

I think I've answered my families MPB history before, but I'll do it again.

Erm, yes and no. My dad has MPB. It's receded and thinned up front, but nothing has touched the crown area. And he didn't start receding till he was in his 40's+. He's 61 now, but you wouldn't consider him to be 'bald' especially for his age. His hair loss was - I think - the same pattern as his fathers, albeit a lot slower. I think my paternal grandfather's hair loss was more aggressive, since if I recall from pictures he had about the same amount of hair as my dad does now, when he was in his 40's. My grandfather died in his 40's though, so I don't know how his hair loss would have gone.

My maternal grandfather died aged 80 with a pretty much full head of hair. Maybe a small amount of recession, and a little bit of thinning towards his grown, but mainly a full head of hair.

I have two cousins who suffer from MPB, but their father - who is my uncle through marriage only - is bald. His other two son's have full heads of hair so I don't understand that.

I forgot to post ONE more picture. This was taken using my webcam when I got up this morning. Based on this picture though, my hair looks great - and I don't get it, compared to the other pics.

This looks pretty much like what I see when I use two mirror to check my hair, only my scalp looks less red in real life.
