Really depressing too. I wish no one here has to go through both types of hair loss. It is very discouraging when you are treating one hair loss(MPB), and then when you are happy with your results, you get this other stupid hair loss on your head, ruining every thing. And contrary to some threads I have seen about AA sufferers and that we have better treatments, that is completely false. I have had a 1000% harder time treating my alopecia areata than I have MPB. MPB treatments have always been more of a financial/consistency issue, but they do work. AA however, there's just nothing out there other than cortisone injections that may or may not regrow your hair, and if it does, AA could come back when ever it wants.

This is something really serious, and it happens to men, women and children and some even lose every hair on their head and body. That is just an evil autoimmune disease, why does it even exist.

I agree that Alopecia Areata is a real problem and that the treatments we have ( PRP and steroid injections) only work some of the time. It is a very difficult situation to deal with.

I've never heard of PRP injections for alopecia areata. Is it better than corticosteroid injections? My dermatologist never gave me this option.
