    New here...

i just realized that ive been shedding a lot of hair lately. is this the beginning of MPB? i feel like i still have a lot of hair, but my crown has really been bothering me lately. debating whether or not to go with propecia, as im only 24.

Without seeing older photos of your crown area it would be hard to say if you are experiencing MPB. You need to take a look at your family history and try to find some photos of your crown area from a couple of years ago. You could always consult a hair restoration physician to get there opinion. If you and/or the doctor come to the conclusion that this is most likely MPB, then the sooner you start the Propecia the better chance it has of slowing down or halting your hair loss. I have many patients that are the same age as you and are taking Propecia.

thanks for the reply...my mom's brother and father both have very little hair, so im really nervous about gradual hair loss. i want do something while i still have a full head of hair and its not too late.

one thing ive read about propecia is that there can be an initial shedding period where all the dead follicles are pushed out to make room for new follicles. would my hair thin out considerably before it starts improving from propecia?
