Are you colouring your facial hair or hair on head?
Just For Men, and most colour kits purchased in grocery or drugstores, work by a different mechanism than you would find in a professional salon brand. Perhaps this is the source of your allergy.
My advice, if you are not going to a professional salon, is to try a beauty supply store. They generally have professional or semi professional lines you can use at home. Regardless of brand, I would advise trying patch test of colour behind your ear and see if you have a reaction.
It is trial and error. There is no "Brand X" that is guaranteed allergy proof. Different additives aggravate different people.
I would advise not shampooing your scalp the day of application. Sometimes stripping your natural oils will allow colour to agitate your scalp.
Hope this helps!

Want to colour head hair only .
I really appreciate the help , I never thought of the natural scalp oils creating a barrier in between.
With "just for men" the main allergy was on my forehead in the form of very dry flaky skin . On the scalp around hair line I have seen white flaky residue forming around hairs . It took around 2 weeks to recover from this , I have kept applying e45 cream to the forehead regularly .

Generally, the irritation I see is redness, itchy scalp, and perhaps some irritated follicles.
Very interesting.
I would advise using a professional brand at least, with a patch test, and I am sure you will be successful.
As always, if this flares up again without colour, see a dermatologist.
All the best!
P.S. Schwarzkopf is a good professional brand to try, should be available in the UK. You might have to go to a salon who uses it - I don't think they will direct sell to a customer.

Some of the newer dyes used in salons are more organic and green friendly. I do agree that it is going to be a trial and error situation. Keep trying them until you find one that does not have any negative effects.

Just to be sure i was reacting to just for men ,i used the 2nd pack i had at home last week and although i washed it off a minute sooner than directed i had bad reaction to it again .
My skin on forehead gets dry , and the skin around hairline and behind gets white flaky /dandruff .
So never using just for men again , i will try schwarzkoff stuff next
This is very annoying as i am not a very allergic person to anything else

Just to make sure you really have to get a branded one they maybe a little pricey compare to non branded but they works well. If you want to be really sure try to put a little on your skin and wait for a couple of minutes if it reacts then don't use it anymore.
