Default 5% liquid Rogaine vs. Rogaine foam 5%

Which is supposed to be more effective? I decided to add minox into my regiment and was leaning towards the foam since its not messy but then I heard the liquid may have better results. Is there a real difference in effectiveness?

I understand the liquid uses propylene glycol as a vehicle which is pretty good from what I read (minus potential skin irritation) but I cannot find what vehicle the foam uses. Even though foam is newer I understand it may not necessarily be better

thoughts? ps I would only be applying it to my hairline and I have short hair so either one would penetrate my scalp...
