Propecia and brain damage
Hey guys. I decided to split my questions into different threads so the answers don't jumble up. My second question is how much info do we have on the long term use of finasteride causing brain damage due to deprivation of neurosteroids that are produced by 5AR? If I get on it, I'm gonna be in it for the long haul so answers from posters who have been on propecia for a while are appreciated. Thanks!

Never heard of such a thing. Been on Fin for over 12 Years now and people tell me I am smarter than I was 12 Years ago

Obvious question , do you get any side affects ?

I have not heard that people with 5-alpha-reductase deficiency have any brain damage, and they go their whole life without DHT.

Yes, this is true. This brain damage is not something physical like most here are thinking. See in PROPECIAHELP you will find several cases of irreversible side effects. This irreversibility occurs for any damage caused to neurosteroids.
There are several reports of it on the internet.

This is possible. Its a drug with risks so everyone taking it must just accept that. It is considered safe so far, but again many unknown things happen slowly over long time with no outward signs so just because someone takes it for 10 years with no changes they noticed doesnt mean nothing changed.

How do you explain this then?
