      Yes.

I don't think there is any topic more common on hair loss forums than people claiming that finasteride made their hair worse. The only explanation for that that I've encountered is reflex hyperandrogenecity, but I've only really read about it on hair loss forums as anecdotes. I try to remind myself that these are dead hairs - gone anyways - which is apparent by their physical appearance: thin, translucent, short. I try to turn what can be disheartening (shedding) into something positive - that they'll be returning healthier and that I'm responding positively to the drug.

We're on our way to bald with or without finasteride. Might as well take a shot with finasteride to see if we can maintain, although the shedding phase is taxing on the morale.

What do you mean by this? Any unhealthy hairs WILL be guaranteed to fall out? I thought fin is supposed to keep what you have, unhealthy thin hairs and healthy ones. It would make no sense to start fin and lose hairs that are thinning on the hairline unless it meant the drug is not working for you or is only slowing down the hairloss process by a little.

Reason I am kind of nervous now is because I started fin in order to keep my hairline as its starting to thin on the corners (above temples)

Not much supporting data that shows Finasteride to any profound effect in the hairline/ frontal area.
