You need to see a urologist to determine what's wrong. I don't think simply taking a hormone reading will tell you very much.
-
I went to see a few doctors to investigate my situation and they were thoroughless useless.
Maybe this Aussie doctor will be more helpful, but the situation for men affected by post finasteride syndrome looks grim, meanwhile self-appointed "experts" in the industry continue to push the drug onto vulnerable young men.
You can supplement on zinc and b-vits and that may help too.

Yeah blood tests are pretty useless.
Finasteride syndromes don't actually affect hormone production. They just reduce the sensitivity of the hormone receptors.
So you get the symptoms of having low test without actually having low test.
As far as I'm aware there's no way to test for loss of receptor sensitivity.
Having read other posts by you Seacat, I'd say there's a very high chance that your symptoms have nothing to do with the Finasteride.
You said you had side effects a few days after starting Fin. This is pretty much impossible.
It seems much more likely to me that this is something else like your other meds, aging, worrying too much about it etc etc.
But best to go see a sexual health doctor anyway.

Did you see any highly regarded mens sexual health specialist doctors?
I read your posts about a year ago so I'm familiar with your situation and 3? months does seem like quite a short time to get long lasting effects like you described, but who knows.
By the way, your posts actually affected my decision to get off fin before risking any issues. And I'm happy so far with the alternative solution I found
Also I'll just add, according to two different sexual health doctors I've spoken to, Post Finasteride Syndrome sufferers do actually slowly regain hormone receptor sensitivity and eventually return to normal.
Just can take many years.

Hi Parker,
There's a highly respected (and expensive) doctor in the UK that a few people I've had emails from have consulted with. The first guy dropped off the face of the planet after a series of emails of despair. I wonder what happened to him and hope he's ok. The second guy was told that there were no treatments so going further was a waste of time...
I'm glad I helped you decide to get off fin, curious what the alternative was you found?
And, yeah I think time is possibly the only hope for recovery. I'm about 18 months past finasteride now and have good and bad spells. It's frustrating when you go through a bad one, but I'm hopefully it will eventually sort itself out.

Might be worth going to that doc anyway.
Just on the chance that it was actually something other than finasteride that happened around the same time and is treatable.
Coincidences like that happen and you weren't on it for even half the time that it usually takes to cause long lasting problems. To put it bluntly I just superglued someone elses hair to my head. I know social stigma and all that but no one at all noticed and my life has never been better since. Only pain is the ongoing cost, but my hair is exactly how I've always wanted it and the hair loss anxiety is gone. If the transplants ever fail you, don't rule it out as an alternative if you can afford it.

A PM function would make this great.
If you are not off the fin stop now. I am done with it, I literally flushed the rest so I would not be tempted again.
Use heat. while you are detoxing it out of your sys take long soaks in hot water and go buy a heat pad.
Keep them warm and comfortable.

Hi Chrisis, how's the sensitivity (inc orgasms) now compared to your post-fin crash?

Do you feel like you will get to 100% again or always deal with good or bad spells.
Im thinking of getting my t levels checked again by my doc.
