    lost cause?

I've posted here a couple times so some of yall may know my story. Im a 23 year old male battling a real fast progressive loss of hair in the frontal part of my scalp. I have been on propecia and manoxidil for the past 8 months and i have seen wonderful results in the mid secsion of my scalp. But the frontal part has been progressing more and more. Will propecia help the frontal area or is it a lost cause? I thought propecia would help you keep your hair...But is it only in the mid part of the scalp? Also, I was thinking, maybe I should upgrade to a 5mg form of propecia. Would appreciate the help.

    Thanks!

Propecia and Minoxidil both are more likely to show positive results in the mid scalp and crown areas. Unfortunetly, if you are still experiencing hair loss in the frontal region this may also be true in your case. To my knowledge there are no studies that show 5 mg Finasteride to more effective than 1 mg Finasteride. I do recommend continuing medication as long as you are seeing positive results. You want to keep as much of your original hair as possible. This may help to minimize the area for future hair transplantation if you ever decide to travel that roed.
