Absentee Doctors During Procedure. An Issue?

I remember reading about a procedure done and the person said that he mainly didnt see the doctor a lot of the day as it was the assistents doing all the work. Im just wondering if this is an issue?
Im currently considering a procedure with the big names like wong, feriduni, feller, bisanga. Does anyone have experience with them? Are they pretty "hands on"? Does it even matter?

I think it absolutely does matter. I had repair procedures with Feller, Cole, and one other doc who shall remain nameless. Feller and Cole were totally hands on throughout the entire procedure. The other doc barely spoke to me and had his assistance do all the work. When I complained, he told me that one of the women working on me was a doctor in Cuba before coming to the US. Give me a break.

This is a controversial subject that comes up every now and then. Each surgeon has his/her own protocol.

Over the years I have arrived at the conclusion that you judge the end results overall for the proposed surgeon that you are considering.
