    Question about my upcoming procedure

Hey guys, I've finally taken the plunge. I said to hell with it and I'm scheduled to have my treatment with Dr. Gho this December. The entire procedure is going to be to my hairline..if you guys remember Tobbin's hairline case a few threads back, my hair is similar to his except a bit more receded.

My question for members here who have had a procedure already....has anyone not shaved their head down? I'm trying to hide the fact that I'm having a procedure done by growing my hair out long to cover it up...do you think if I opt to not shave my head down...that my results won't be as good?

    thanks

My question as well... it'll be bloody obvious I got a procedure, if people see me with a shaved/buzzed head...

I think retiring yourself from social activities from like 10-14 days after procedure would be the best bet to pass undetected. Cuz if u grow out a combover to your donor area some people may find your haircut really weird. Also, when your native hair in front will be long and implanted stuff will start to grow.

        Donor eh?

No problem. As long as I don't have to shave donor and recipient?

I'm doing the exact same thing in September, Feartheloss. I can let you know how it goes. Are you flying overseas?

            Okay, I would appreciate that.

And yes, I am flying from the USA. How about you?

From Canada. Probably out of Toronto. My plan is to:

              1. Get there the morning before, take the tube down to the area and stay in a hostel. Trying to save every penny I can so this takes as small a bite out of my life as possible.
              2. Get a 1000-1200 graft procedure.
              3. Fly home the next day.
              4. Stay home from work for a week.
              5. After 3 weeks, get my normal buzzcut.
Will get the procedure from Gho himself.

Roughly how much do you think this will cost you?

                    I'm planning to go as well, I'm also from Toronto. Luckily for me I have friends in London, thus I can crash for a few days if need be. I'll definitely need a week+ off from work so it goes as little noticed as possible. However I'm aiming for 1,800+ grafts;

                    - 500 grafts per temple to fill in (1,000 grafts)
                    - Lower hairline which should be about 20cm (20 x 35 grafts = 700)

I'd like to go for about 2,400 grafts though and fill in areas behind my CURRENT hairline, just in case recession continues.

Cost for 1,800 grafts is $13,268.29 CAD

Bro, in 3-5 years I doubt you'll have to go over to see Gho. There will be better things than fin out, plus we should have regeneration here in the states. Dr. Mousseigne is looking for a doctors in the USA and other countries to practice his technique...also Dr. Cole is going to see Dr. Nigam and if his donor doubling is as he describes...than this whole thing is "essentially" over...because he claims 100% regen with donor doubling.

Not to mention.....if everything went perfectly with Replicel and Follica (granted this is a small chance) we could have the cure by 5 years.

                          consultations

All you North American guys, did you go for in person consultations or did you just send over pictures?

I am a bit reluctant to just send in pictures. In my consultations with top FUE Docs in the States, they have told me that my donor in pretty thin, can only yield 3000-3800 fue grafts and I am headed towards NW 6 land. Thus Gho is really my only option now....

Brock you should perhaps send very detailed donor pictures, ur problematic area and of course your age and mpb history in the family to them.

GC had clinics tell him he can only get 2000 grafts, now he got already like 3k and going for 3k more in two procedures. However if your donor hair is long right now i dont know how they would be able to asses its density.
