My ex girlfriend used to fit hair systems, this was like 9 or 10 years ago, she styled them and cut them. I actually remember talking to a guy in the salon, I didn't realise at the time that he was there for maintenence, I honestly couldn't tell. So yeah, they can work.

No one, indeed, beacuse all this is much more accepted for women. You know, the beautiful gender etc. They are meant, by the current societal stereotypes, to take care of themselves and remain attractive, no matter what or how. This is considered to be a female trait, so it is normal (in this context) that it is much less tolerated on men.

    FACT.
Nobody on this forum or any forum is gonna cure/solve baldness. However, when eventually cured , it will be breaking news and it won't read; member of a baldness forum cures baldness from his/her garage. Who knows the true side effects of all of these black market products. And why make yourself a test dummy for multimillion dollar companies for free. Then when you get cancer or bad side effect, you'll be on another forum stressing a cure.

    ITS NOT WORTH IT

there is no ****ing way this is any crazier than anything else we do around here. seriously, just throwing random shit on our heads, taking propecia etc? I think it's just the stigma UK. you can't honestly say that cutting hair out of the back of your ****ing head and putting it into the front is somehow a more noble deed. all vanity. might as well save money and scars and actually look good for a couple years with a system then hop on the cure. unless of course you think baldness is better? which would beg question of why you are even here...
No you haven't. In fact lots of guys prefer them to HT or meds

I'd like to give you guys an idea about hairpieces and the guys on the forums that wear them as I have spent some time on those forums.

I have been on the toplace and Northwest lace fourms, lace is the base the hair injected onto btw and this sits on your scalp, and they have some amazing looking hairpieces. With a good system the hair when wet even looks like its growing from your scalp.

The guys over there are very knowledgeable and through years of homemade trial and error testing have been getting great results.

You send in a hair sample to a supplier and get a color match. You can specify hairline density and over all density. You make your own template with a hairline as low or high as you want it, with or without temple flaps. You can specify grey hair percentage and a low density for a natural look for the older gentleman.

Believe me the majority of guys doing it right have systems that are undetectable at any distance, you would need to be digging through a persons hair with your fingers to find the lace and attachment.

Guys even make their own partial frontal hair pieces cut from a stock piece to fill in receded temples to restore a straight hairline and they blend perfectly with their natural hair. It requires shaving off a piece of the natural hair to get a perfect blend but it looks flawless. There is a 21yr old guy who has done an amazing DIY job with a frontal partial like this.

Getting the right attachment is the key, an attachment that is secure and the hairline wont lift for days, the glues and tapes are very strong and their is a wealth of products which they guys review and have tested, a good attachment could last a couple of weeks. Some guys sleep and shower in their hairs, they go to the gym and play sports. They all help and advise each other on attaching and cleaning the systems and where they can find a barber who will do a good cut in on a new system from them, there are many people who specialise in this in many countries, I even know a few in Ireland now from my time talking on the forums. Their is a good community their and its more supportive than here, by that I mean there is less arguing.

The hair pieces shed like regular hair so you might need three a year so their is some financial commitment.

Some of the guys find wearing very daunting and others liberating as it gives them their looks back. People worry about getting caught others have so much faith in their maintenance work that it doesn't bother them.

Their is a new skin base system which is the latest break through in fake hair that some guys are using. Many of them tried fin etc before going down the hair system route.

Some guys have been wearing for decades and love the benefits of always having hair with no side effects.

To give you an idea of how good a system can look see here

Its an option guys, dont knock it just yet, check out the sites and pics and you will be amazed

    Wow

That guy Joe's looks undetectable. I have only temple and hairline loss so I definitely would consider that instead of waiting for something to come out.

The 'shock' of people finding out and the stigma about disclosing it to people is what stops me.

I wore one for a good few years. I regretted it everyday and it was seriously expensive too.

I felt as if people knew I had it and it was a nightmare. I found myself unable to make eye contact with people close up to me because I didn't want to see them looking up!

The day I shaved my head combined with a transplant was the best thing I ever did.

Obviously everyone is different and yes some can look great, but paranoia will set in at some point, trust me!
