Donor area infection

Hello all
I was wondering how FUE donor area infection looks like. I am 8 weeks post op FUE 4000 GRAFTS and still got many pimples in my donor area.
I start having them a month ago.

Have I got an infection? if yes then what would be the best remedy?

Doesn't look like an infection per se, but it does look like you might have some ingrown hairs in the donor perhaps. It's possible that there were some telogen hair left behind after the extractions that might have grown back in the donor which could leave some ingrown hairs. You should check your with your doctor to be sure, but whatever it is, it should be and easy fix.

PayDay thank you for the reply, Yes I was hoping of the same but afraid that it might be an infection. I guess I will wait for couple of weeks before calling my doctor for antibiotics.

Are these "pimples" oozing anything? Is the donor area "sensitive" or painful in any way to the touch? The area looks very red. Any swelling?

Sorry to ask so many questions as I cannot see the area with clarity. Have you asked your surgeon about this yet? Your doctor may advise the use of a topical cream.

It never hurts to have this examined by a doctor just to be on the safe side.

At eight weeks post-op, the area appears more normal for many. Yet we all heal differently and it should improve with more time.

gillenator thank you for your reply, no its not oozing, not sensitive, no pain and no swelling.
The pimples just appear 3 or 4 at the time. I did asked my surgeon a while ago and he said that it will go away soon but that was a month ago.

I have seen many donor area pics and mine is looking bad compare to most of them. I am keeping it clean and I use Aloe Vera 99% gel as well.

You are welcome my friend. If this condition persists or appears to get worse, then ask you doctor about applying something like Neurosporin to the area.

Otherwise, this should improve with time and best wishes to you!

Thank you guys for your replies.

I had a tip from a friend who done HT as well. He suggested to use pure coconut oil, I have been massaging the donor area for the past 3 nights before going to sleep. Today I when I checked the donor area its like I never had any pimples or redness, all looks very clean.

Pure coconut oil, who would have guessed that.

Thanks for sharing that because undoubtedly there are other patients having the same situation.
