Actually I have only been on dut for just under 4 months, probably should have mentioned that. I have been on fin more than 2.5 years and continue to take it while on dut.

I had to go to a hair loss specialist to get Avodart, my GP knew nothing about it

Fin 4 months here. Have had two temporary sides.
    • Prostate "ache" first couple days.
    • At ~3 months my chest itched and felt warm for ~2 weeks

I can't even imagine how I would feel if I had waited any longer to start.

If you're going to pull the trigger at all, pull it sooner than later.

Women have it good, they have far longer and more powerful orgasms too. We're just shit.
You realize that is a myth, right?

-When discussing the idea of sexual peaks, people point to all kinds of biological evidence. One is that the levels of sexual hormones are highest for men when they are between seventeen and twenty-two, and highest for women around ages thirty-one to thirty-six. The thing of it is that the level of sexual hormones “has absolutely no correlation to the enjoyment, the activity, the frequency of sex,” according to Dr. Lee P. Shulman, professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. In other words, the physiological chemistry happening plays a very small part in one’s overall sex drive.

-According to Dr. Marc Goldstein of Cornell University, hormones don't decide when you hit your sexual apex. People aren't soda bottles that just reach a point of maximum pressure and then pop.

At 27 my libido still rages on, to the point it's almost a nuisance. I would almost welcome having it lowered a bit.

Fin really helped yes, reversed my diffuse thinning noticeably and then maintained. Only side I noticed was a slight change in ejaculate (sorry TMI)

On dut I have not been on long enough to judge the results. In fact I think the density in my hairline corners might have taken a minor hit....hopefully it is just an initial med shed and the hair will grow back stronger, otherwise it would suck. However I am pretty pleased with how my hair looks otherwise, when my BDD isn't wrecking me.
Have not noticed sides on dut so far except my libido seemed to increase a bit when I started. Not sure if it was a coincidence, or improved mood from knowing I was starting a stronger MPB drug, or a rise in testosterone from the drug

Hey JCM... I'm about the same age (40)... I started very very gradually losing my hair in my mid twenties and am still a NW2, but thinning to a three. I decided 7 months ago I didn't want my hair loss to progress any further so I started fin.

Only side I have experienced for sure is decreased ejaculate volume - but no change in libido. I haven't noticed any regrowth yet, but I decided when I started I would give it a full year before evaluating efficacy.

I would look at fin more as a maintaining drug than regrowing drug. I think the reason it reversed my situation as well as it did was because I was mostly diffuse thinning, so I had a lot of miniaturizing hairs as opposed to bare patches. It can definitely thicken up miniaturizing hairs, but advancing your hairline once the area is bare is like trying to push boulders

If you are trying to max your regrowth without surgery I would probably say dut+keto+minox is your best bet.

Man, I hope I can maintain and thicken up a bit. I never really had noticeable diffuse thing on the top and back until after I had a massive shedding phase after starting fin.

Still shedding a lot of sickly, miniaturized hairs though. Just have to keep after it.

Hi Ktownmatti - your hairloss history and situation seems very similar to my own.

I wish you all the best with your treatment plan, still on the fence personally, need to take action soon or it won't be worth it.

Yes the hairs you shed on fin have a very strong chance of regrowing, that it a normal part of the process. Minoxidil would probably help with regrowth but it can also cause a significant early shed. Being hit with a double med shed would be stressful if you aren ot prepared for it.
