Default General questions about getting a prescription for Propecia in the United States

Is Propecia a difficult prescription to acquire? Will I find more success going to a general practitioner or dermatologist? How much does the prescription cost?

You should not have any problem getting a prescription for Propecia from either a General Practitioner or a Dermatologist. You may want to consider visiting a doctor who specializes in hair restoration so they can keep track of the progression of your hair loss. It does come generic now so the cost has come down a bit.

Is there any difference between Propecia and the generic?

Would you say it's safe to say that most general practitioners and dermatologists are aware of Propecia?

Mine was today. Went for the first time and told him I was worried about my hair loss. He told me i has slight thinning on the crown and receding temples. He said if I want, he can gladly prescribe me generic propecia for a year. Super pumped to hop on it tomorrow when i pick it up from pharmacy!! Just don't know if I want to start off with .5 or 1 mg a day... probably 1.

    Dermatologists for sure.

Doctor's are a bit less likely to be aware.
