Hi.. after 2+ years of Fin , my crown is going strong. But the look of my frontal hairline is depressing me lately. I have had a receeded NW3 hairline for a long time but the scalp never showed and that was ok for me. But over the past two years, the hairline got thinner and these days, the scalp is showing through the frontal hairline. I have started using Minox 5% again only on the frontal hairline. I am in the middle of month two. I know it's too early to notice any difference. Do you guys think that it will help me thicken the thin hairline in the front? How long can I continue using it to decide whether to go on or stop? Because it is itchy and causing scales but still I go on.
2+ years of fin. Crown is fine. Frontal hair is worse

May be.. But I don't notice any shedding when I comb .. So I am not sure if it's the shedding or the progression of mpbComment

I have had several patients over the years that was able slow down the crown hair loss but continued to experience hair loss in the hairline/ frontal region while taking Propecia.Comment

3+ years on finasteride. Still loosing hair in the front
Back here again. Have been on fin for 3 years. Still loosing hair in the front but crown looks ok. Discontinued using minox 5% as it itches like crazy. Wondering if I should start it again on the frontal hairline.Comment

I personally think the front reacts to testosterone and even small levels of DHT. The temples, and area commonly referred to as "mature hairline" I feel are just the most sensitive to androgens so they go first usually. Current treatments are just frankly not good enough and raising T for less DHT isnt enough to stop the front in most men.Comment

Switch to 0.5 mg/day dutasteride. It's significantly more effective than 5 mg/day finasteride. http://www.bernsteinmedical.com/reso...s-finasteride/
It seems there's no real increase in the risk of side effects.Comment

Honestly thats why I beleive ones with very strong MPB need to go right to dut. The longer you wait to go on fin/dut the less chance you can save your hairline. Also RU is key as it blocks T and DHT at the AR. Throw in a growth stim like minox which extends anagen phase and you can atleast save most your hairs and signifigantly slowdown the hairline recession. It really sucks there was no norwood 1 or 2's in the trials for dut and fin...Comment

Yeah I like how they never even tested anything on the more common NW 2 type of hair loss at the temples/front. I hope they test CB 03 01 on that and it works there.Comment
