Spencer says Surgery is the LAST resort...
Spencer has always said this.............................................
He is a really honest human being.....
Just saying....
Even Spex has said this before on the UK show.
-----------------------------
But for all those who are going in for surgery, may the Universe bless you with the safest and most successful surgery ever.

Yup
If they screw you up you'll be spending the rest of your life trying to fix it so it looks normal
and if turns out OK, you ;ll probably have to go back numerous time to keep replacing what you lose
It's a never ending fight you can't win

I mean if propecia works well for you, and your not a nw6, then a hair transplant can def be an option. Guys who are past nw4 and can't even take propecia, should not even look at a HT.

I heard the show tonight and loved that last caller. Spencer seemed really touched by him. What you're saying is true FlightTL, Kobren deserves a lot of respect!

I still kind of disagree with this tbh.
I see propecia as a last resort.

I see shaving your head down as the last resort. I guess different priorities for different folks.
I think its this for me
1) nizoral shampoo at age 20
2) diet , exercise, proper sleep , no smoking.
3) any loss at all , minoxidil
4) still loss, then finasteride
Someone like myself who missed these steps and is starting from a NW 3 or worse...........
1) Finasteride and minoxodil
2) Hair transplant to fix what we have lost , and accepting a realistic hairline.
3) 2 or 3 procedures to tidy it all up if we have the donor hair avail.
4) shave it down if none of this works.

Very much agree...these things a person learns from experience..

Yeah, in some cases this is true. I'm not sure if we can know in advance who is vulnerable to suffering sides though. Perhaps a blood test.
Propecia is seen too often as a first option, but I feel people should start with topical inhibitors such as minoxidil and keto shampoos.

If loss starts young, there's no way that these will stop it. You could screw around with experimentals but, in most cases, an oral inhibitor is your best bet.

I agree about it being the last resort. It's by far the most expensive option. If you are against Finasteride, then its not really a resort at all. Now we have Milena's great trico-pigmentation to add as a resort though.
