Default 6 months post HT, still totallybald!

I had 3,500 grafts done in November of 2012. 3,000 Strip, 500 FUE. Doctor in Virginia. I don't want to say name of doctor just yet.
I see essentially no growth and am obviously disappointed. Is my progress normal? Doctor says it looks "great."
    Thanks for your input.

Was the doctor right or left handed when doing the procedure ?

By the look of the photos It appears that he did only half of your head. Underneath your chin. This is normal for the first go around.

Let the hair grow out under your chin and you will see it was money well spent.

Next time, make sure its a Kosher doctor and ask for 'dunce packing' where they can stack the hairs on top of each other.

IMO that doctor is either a liar or incompetent. Looks like less than 1000 grafts have been transplanted. Much less. I would ask for refund or expose this guy so no one else is subjected to his malpractice.

Update – it has now been 10 months. Here is a new photo.

The surgery was done at Virginia Surgical.

Virginia Surgical is owned by Linda Carnazza, who is not a doctor. She runs the clinic with her daughter, Danielle Mctyre, also not a doctor. They hire doctors on a per procedure basis. My procedure was done by Dr. Beth Jordan. Note that Dr. Jordan is not a dermatologist or a surgeon and she does not do transplants full time. These are all red flags that I should have picked up on.

I think these results are so poor, I should get a complete refund. Linda has refused to refund any money. To her credit, she has offered to have Dr. Jordan and team do a 2nd procedure, free of charge. I’m not sure this is a good option though. There is a limited amount of donor hair and I’m afraid to take a chance with them. I don’t know what Dr. Jordan has to say about any of this, as she has not returned any of my phone calls since the surgery. What do you all think? I feel like I paid $9,000 for a scar.

Additionally, Linda and Danielle have both told me recently that my hair “looks great” and is “right on track.”

    Your thoughts?

That has to be really frustrating. $9k and still nothing after 10 months. Is it possible to file some sort of lawsuit against them? Or is there some contract you sign before an HT that prevents you from getting any refund or filing a lawsuit? That is murder. These are the kind of stories that lurkers see and stay away from HT's. Although you don't want to hear this right now, but you should have really done your research before going for an HT. Good luck, I hope you get every penny back.

3500 grafts for $9000? That's a pretty good deal. The only thing missing is the hair growth. Man that blows. Looking at the pics at the beginning of the thread and comparing them to the recent pic, it actually looks like you have less hair now.

This is exactly the thing that turns me off to hair transplants. I have other things I could spend that kind of money on.

Sorry about the crappy results man. Maybe it takes a bit longer to show growth, I have no clue.
