Growing hair long after a transplant

Most of the guys I see in photos after a transplant have conventionally short hair. What if I wanted to grow it out a little; I'm not talking hippie but a little longer and fuller. Possible?

You should be able to grow your new transplanted hair as long as you like. Transplanted hairs start to grow between 90-150 days after the procedure and generally grow 1/4 to 1/2 inch per month. This most likely depends on what your normal hair growth rate is. I agree that real before and after photos should have hair that is the same length. Maybe the patients are excited and visit their doctor as soon as they see some new hairs growing. I also do not think that B&A photos showing the patient with the hair cut very short/trimmed in the before photos should have after photos showing the patient with longer hair.
