Normal amount of hairs in the shower?
What is the normal amount of hairs for men to shed in the shower? Do men without male pattern baldness have hairs on their hand after shampooing/conditioning?

It is normal to shed 50 -100 hairs a day.
Any more can usually be attributed to hair loss

Some people shed up to 150 hairs.
But it all depends on how many hairs are being replenished, if its the same amount as shed then obviously your not balding, if its less... well then, sucks to be you (and us). But it will of course depend how many are not being replenished to their original previous state (hairs miniaturize, they dont just disappear forever after one shed).

My shed was obviously mpb. Hiars on my keyboard at work, hairs all over my shower walls, tons of hair every time I shampoo, after I shampoo I got hairs all over my towel and on my pillow. That WAS my shed. Fortunately I am not shedding anymore thanks to various treatments.

Please, what does the amount of hair in the shower have to do with male pattern baldness? It can have something to do with telogen effluvium, but not with the slow process like MPB! I always smile, when I read posts from guys, who obsessively count their hairs in the shower, and they think that it is an indicator of their hair loss progression.

I lose maybe 5 hairs in the shower, I have blonde hair so it's hard to count but I don't ever really see them on my hands after shampooing, maybe 1 or 2, I guess I lose some that go straight down the drain as well that's why I'm saying 5. After showering (drying and combing my hair), I lose maybe another 10 or so.. At the peak of my shedding (which I'm sure was from TE), I was maybe losing close to 100 in my morning shower routine.

Actually normal shedding can be any where from 50 to 200 hairs a day.
If you do not have MPB and you shed 200 hairs a day, it does not matter. Those without MPB grow hair faster than they lose it, that is why hair sheds do not affect these people.
Whether you have MPB or not, you will lose 50-200 hairs a day. The problem is hair loss sufferers do not grow these hairs back thick, instead they grow back thinner and thinner until they are no longer visible to the naked eye.
This is how I understand the process of hair cycle. Some one correct me if i'm wrong.

It really does not matter how many hairs you lose as long as they come back the same. Obviously if they come back miniaturised then it is MPB.
