Default Does propecia/minoxidil work better on different hair types?

I'm 22 and my hair has reached that critical point where its become kinda obvious that I'm losing it. Now I've decided to give fin a shot.

I don't have thick bushy/wavy hair. My hair is fine, shiny and very straight. As far as receding goes my temples are probably a NW 2-2.5 and I have some diffuse thinning in the very front. I don't have any thinning in the crown region but having a large forehead and a high hairline really accentuates the loss in the frontal region.

I'd really like to get some thickness/regrowth back just in the frontal region. Is this possible given my hair type? Does regrowth/thickening work better on different hair types? Should I give minoxidil a shot? Does that work better on different hair types?

I'll give fin a year and if I don't see any noticeable results (ie it only prevents further loss) then I think I'll just shave my head and give up trying to hide it.

I don't think i've ever heard of finasteride/rogaine having hair type discrimination.

    Thumbs up

The main purpose of Propecia is to stop or slow future loss. This should be viewed as success if this is your result.

Regrowth should be seen as a bonus really. We'd all like it ti happen but don't underestimate the value of stopping the loss in it's tracks. You have to consider the fact that if any degree of loss bothers you now, you may feel considerably more concerned if this situation progressed.

Just food for thought but if you are ok with it, then all power to you. Maybe Propecia isn't for you if that's the case.
