My reason for avoiding HT is I don't want to get a thinner looking transplant then check this site to see that Histogen or whatever grows native density hair back but only if the follicles haven't been killed with a HT...

I can't see how this would be a problem. A hair transplant is designed to implant hair in the places where none can be visibly seen. I would assume that if you have a HT that isn't too dense, Histogen should still be able to grow grafts in between existing follicles.

There may be some factor I'm not considering though.
