Yeah I had side effects and still persisting, though they're improving very slowly. I didn't try Viagra because I didn't really have erectile problems - more other symptoms, like sensitivity etc. I just think it's a bit dangerous medicating with one drug to offset the negative effect of another. Like using your body as a laboratory...
I completely agree. And who knows you'll get hypotension from Viagra then have to correct it with another medication :P It never ends.
How old are you if you don't mind me asking? I was speaking to a 30 year old friend of mine who started Propecia back in September and he has had ED recently as well when he was with a woman. He didn't find her particularly attractive and believes this, as well as his age, was more of a factor than the medication. How much do you believe getting older and not having such a veracious sexual appetite factors into all of this?

I'm 29. I think my age is 0% relevant because I noticed everything within 2 months of taking the drug.
I could relate my confidence in Propecia being the cause, as to pouring boiling water on your hand and wondering whether something else caused the burn.

Do not stop taking propecia. I think one bad sexual experience has triggered something and the problems are psychological. I think you will regret stopping Fin. A lot of people have stopped due to side effects , lost their hair and started using again but without the hair they had before.
Good luck mate, your hair looks good .

Maybe try taking 0.5mg every other day? You may even get a placebo effect because you are doing something to address the problem.
I'm not saying your problems are definitely psychological but it's crazy how powerful the brain is.. I had a problem getting it up for this chick a few years ago which caused me to go into a funk. Same thing happened with the next chick I was with because I was anxious and didn't want it to happen again. Went to my doctor for a check-up and mentioned it to him. Kind of embarrassing but he gave me a sample of Cialis, took it twice (Holy Shit ), and got my confidence back. Never had a problem since then. He said you wouldn't believe the amount of young men who come in and believe their dick doesn't work anymore when it's really that they've fallen into a circle of anxiety. The thing is, if I would of been on finasteride at the time I guarantee I would of blamed those incidents on the drug. I'm by no means saying finasteride can't cause side effects but maybe look into the psychological aspect of this before quitting. Also, stop looking at porn for a while. This is a good TedTalk on how porn induced ED is becoming a huge problem:

Hi Locke,
Did you ever get the side effects when you used Proscar? You said you were off and on but I'm thinking some of those 'on' periods were long enough for effects to kick in if they were going to.
There's no logical reason why you'd do better on Proscar as it's the same drug (as you know), but if something works then go with it.
You may benefit from trying a small dose (like, say, 0.5mg), taking it every other day, or combining both of those things to ensure that lower levels are in your system. That works for some guys in eliminating side effects, and Finasteride can be effective at lower doses.
I agree with those who said that countering the side effects with Viagra isn't a good idea. You don't want to be taking one pill to fight the effects of another. I've used Viagra. It's fun (I could describe the experience with words such as "iron bar") but I wouldn't want to rely on it to function.
