Ten months in with finasteride
I am now ten months into using Finasteride, Regenepure and previously Nizoral when it was available in stores, Biotin 5000mg pills, and saw palmetto. The results have been interesting to say the least hair that was peach fuzz on the crown and vertex of my head darkened or it some cases turned gray with age and thickened however it did not grow longer or shed as of yet (correction it shed very little) and I am Norwood 5 headed into 6. So I continued shaving my head to give it an even look. I am feel the coarseness and thicken of some hair returning to my temple areas. It has me now locked in to go past a year with Finasteride and into a 2nd year to see what might continue as I have suffered lessening of the morning erection but my erections and ejaculation have not been affected overall. But in the meantime I have dropped weight by exercise lost about 21 pounds and I am currently due to try to lose another 10 and get down to about 180 lbs. I stand at about 5 ft '10 and a half inches. I am feeling very positive about the results I will post pictures to confirm this later on this week.

What is this 'saw palmetto' I keep reading. I am picturing gulping down a form of sawdust
Does it really help ? What does it do?
Saw palmetto is an herbal extract supplement used mainly for urinary tract and prostate health. For some also scientific studies have come out lukewarm or slightly inconclusive on it results for some it blocks particular 5 AR type enzymes that would bind to the receptors of your hair follicles and allows hair growth in those cases. Now saw palmetto extract can be bought in any health food store, GNC or supermarket that sells vitamins or supplements in that aisle.

Solid update, ChrisM.
There's actually a correlation between body fat and loss of libido; hopefully dropping your weight will boost that part of your life.
That isn't to say finasteride isn't affecting your libido (I feel I have to add that caveat whenever I insinuate libido loss may be independent of pharmaceuticals, as to appease the anti-fin crew.)
Regardless, I look forward to future updates from you.
Best.

Sounds like you've had a good response. Hopefully you'll have success in maintaining hair - the thickening of velus hairs is a good sign that you will.
