Default Irrefutable Evidence Fin Can Exacerbate Hair Loss

Fin worked great for me for 7 months. Back in October I started shedding like crazy and it hasn't stopped since. All kinds of people told me a bunch of BS about how late extended sheds are "normal" which is total crap, and heres why. I saw a derm "hair loss specialist" a couple weeks ago (she also did not believe fin can make hair loss worse), and she evaluated my situation. She said in her 20 years of experience shes never seen adverse effects from fin usage...blah blah blah. She gave me a biopsy and sent me on my way. She called me a week later and told me my hair loss was causing scarring. Just an FYI, scar tissue is irreparable damage. So even after roughly 14 months on fin, I am in a contiuous heavy shed with freaking scarring, thanks to everyone who told me to stay the course and wait for the shed to abate, great advice.

IF the whole story is true - sounds like you have fibrosing/scarring alopecia.

If that is the case then how can the poster correlate scarring alopecia which it sounds like what he has with Finasteride ?

Three percent of baldness cases according to WebMD are scarring alopecia from which most of the damage is irreversible once done as the scar tissue blocks the follicle shaft and inflammation sets in cementing it in for no possible growth whatsoever. So even using Finasteride if that was the cards that genetics dealt out for in no way could Finasteride has helped to offset that or have caused that issue in any event.

If there is scientific evidence based on a study that says that scarring alopecia is a known side effect of Finasteride and the numbers from such a scientific study statistically support your claim I would be more apt to lean towards your argument.

"Irrefutable Evidence Fin Can Exacerbate Hair Loss "

"irrefutable": You use that word, I don't think it means what you think it means. Your situation is obviously an anomaly. Don't seek advice from internet forums unless you are willing to accept laymen speaking in generalities. Further, expect anecdotes, like the one you just presented yourself.

Sorry to hear of your situation. Sorry to hear this board gave you genuine responses based on what is accepted as the general consensus. It's a hair loss board, bro. Take everything with a grain of salt.

Maybe if you go to propeciahelp.com, you can get involved with their class action lawsuit and get some muneyz.
