    Where to Start?

    Hello everyone,

I'm 26. I always assumed I wouldn't go bald because my dad, close to 60 has a full head of brown hair. A few months ago, I got my hair cut short and I noticed receding at the sides. I had never got it cut that short so I don't know what to compare it to.

Since then, I've noticed hairs coming out when I run my hand through my hair. And my hair *seems* like it has less volume or is thinner. But again, I'm not sure if I'm being paranoid.

I got a free hair analysis from this place called 'Micron Labs' and it was a complete scam. The 'expert' told me I had 6 months until I was completely bald and kept mentioning 'my hair loss problem is accelerating'. It was honestly a total joke. Which leads me to my question.

Where can I get a solid analysis/checkup on my hair to see if I need to get treatment (rogaine, fin). Everything I read says you can thicken current hairs but can't regrow once they're gone. So I am being pro-active. I like my hair now, but it's getting thinner. I have a generic family doctor, but should I be contacting a specialist? I feel like my family doctor would dismiss it.

    Thanks

Click on "Find a doctor" on the left side of this page:
