You can get it via prescription for hair loss, but not on the NHS.

The prescription I got off a private dermatologist (for quartered generic Proscar) got me 11 months worth for £6(!), bought in Superdrug pharmacy. Seriously.

Unfortunately, my NHS GP won't give me a non-NHS prescription for any more.

Yep normal nhs gp. Was really easy to get proscribed as well. My gp was honest, told me all the facts and told me to go away and think about it. I did, decided to go for it. Starting Monday so will update people on here

Cool. Glad to hear it worked out OK getting a prescription. Just make sure you get the blood tests every so often, and take regular photos!
