What are the current treatments out there?
I know about propecia. but what other meds can i take? and what are the big three?

The big three are Propecia (or generic Finasteride), Rogaine (or generic Minoxidil) and Nizoral shampoo.
Currently, Finasteride and Minoxidil are the only medications proven to work and approved by the FDA or the treatment of hereditary hair loss in men.
Dutasteride has been shown to work but has not been FDA approved for treating hereditary hair loss. The likelyhood of experiencing negative sexual side effects is greater with Dutasteride.
There are grey market treatments that have not been adequately or appropriately tested for safety or efficacy and are not FDA approved. However, some men flock to those treatments anyways.
