yes, I believe something has mutated, it's my genes? I used to have all benefits from dht-blockers. I told to myself I would use them forever. now dutasteride is not enough at controlling my hair loss. I think I have changed and became resistant to dht blockers, I think dht runs freely in my veins in spite of dutas. because I have that itch which only corticosteroids can mask, I have the symptoms of a balding man who is not on any medications. when I was applying corticosteroid on my scalp, some miniaturized hairs came up, from my vertex region, haha the place where the medication should work the best. for a man who is 5+ years on dht blockers, it is not expected to still miniaturize especially in that region. I am not blaming the meds, I feel furious to myself because I have such a stupid genetic condition that can change and overcome meds.

btw I just had food delivered and this beautiful blonde long hair came out of the salad and I started to inspect its texture, checked if it had a white bulb at the end and compared the thickness to my own hair instead of calling the place to complain!

Can you tell us your full story Konfusion?

When you started getting male pattern baldness, what norwood were you when did you start the meds, how did they work , how long have you been on them blah blah............

What norwood are you now etc.........

konfusion, if I were in your shoes, I would do the following:

1)See a gp and get a blood test to make sure that you are responding to duta and your DHT levels are low. This will tell you if the medication is working for you or not (if it is working, you just have VERY aggressive mpb).

2)I would start looking into topicals to take with duta. You could try liquid duta, RU, etc.

If you use generic dut you could try brand name Avodart or a different generic source. There are counterfeit generics of many medicines out there.

Also, dut is dose dependent. You can try a higher dose, but if you use brand name Avo, it can get pretty expensive!
