24 years looking bald
Hello guys,
I'm 24 years old and been losing hair since 19. But now things are looking really bad.
Genetics wise: father is bald and mom suffers from hair loss too.
Treatments: For the last 3 years I'm on finasteride, without side effects so far.
I'm strongly considering a FUE transplant now. I would like to ask your opinion whether I am a good candidate or not for a FUE transplant keeping in mind my current hair loss stage? I've attached a couple of pictures.
With the FUE transplant I was looking for a realistic result with a little more density, and not the hairline I had with 17. I just want to look a bit less bald, if that's possible. And I know I would need more than one transplant.
What do you guys think? Would FUE transplant be a good option for me regarding my age/hair stage, or there isn't much to do in my case?
Cheers.

Was your hair loss extrememly rapid from 19-24? I think if you got a hair transplant, if you kept it short it'd like pretty good.

hi.
I am sorry for your loss Nemisis. How has the finasteride worked for you?
I would NOT recommend a hair transplant but I am no expert. I am almost twice your age and my situation is different.
Hopefully more people can come and be more helpful than I have been.

Glad to read of another dude my age not having sides from the boogie monster finasteride.

@Aeroes: I would say that it was fast, but not extremely. However finasteride put a huge break on it. With the HT I was looking for some more densisty and not filling too much the temples, as they are way too huge already.
@drybone: thanks. I think it has worked great, problably the main reason I still have some hair. And without side effects so far.

Nemesis,
If you have lost that much hair by the age of 24, then the chances are you are in for more loss in the future.
Read the forums and do your research.
There is no harm in you having some free online consultations with a handful of leading clinics to give you a good indication of what is viable.
Additionally, you could mail some of the online representatives and talk through your current situation.
I wouldn't just fully focus on FUE- it might not be within your best interest and hence why I would recommend speaking to a wide variety of clinics that perform both procedures to gain a balanced perspective.
