considering Dutasteride, need help!

I'm 22 yrs old, NW2.5 with a diffuse pattern and aggressive hair loss (receeding since age of 17 with a NW7 dad)

Been on propecia for about 2 years now

my hairloss has slowed down to a crawl but is still prepossessing slightly especially around the temple areas.

I've been considering taking Duasteride 0.5mg to see if the 'Big guns' can really halt and hopefully let me see a little regrowth.

my questions are

How safe is dutasteride compared to Finasteride? I don't want to hear about how fin make you impotent etc,, not saying it hasnt give some guys sides but personally think that the risk of side effects with fin are acceptable.

is 0.5mg a good dose to start?

should you take a dose everyday?

im from the UK, does anyone know a good/trusted way I could get it?

Is it likely to benefit me more than fin and if so how much?

Personally I'd consult a doctor to work this one out.


Using the opinion of 2 or 3 shady characters on an internet forum for medical advice with potentially very dangerous medication is not a good idea.

A doctor should have access to studies including thousands of patients and their reported side effects, hopefully according to different doses.
