How long before fue into scar???
Hey friends, just had my third Strip HT done about two weeks ago. I would like to know how long should I wait before I can get an FUE scar repair done.

If a strip scar widens, it generally begins at about the third month post-op. I just asked Dr. Cole how long he recommends you wait. He said to wait 6 months. Are you referring to scars from surgery previous to your latest you want repaired?

You may find out that after complete healing, you will not need to add FUE into your strip scar. I had four strips and never had a need to add FUE into my scar which runs ear-to-ear.
Everyone is different. FUE into scars is especially helpful when a wider scar is not eligilble for a revision. If there is enough laxity and no other complications, a wider scar can first be revised (made thinner), heal again, and then add FUE grafts "only" if needed or desired at a later date. Yet some patients heal with a wider scar irrespective of the closing technique that was employed. Again, this is where FUE can be advantageous. A raised scar is more complicated and adding FUE can be dangerous or complicate the scar in some patients.
Obviously there wa not a trico closure method done on your strip procedure?
Best wishes as you heal and await the regrowth!

Thanx for the responses. Before my third HT the scar wasnt nothing major at all. I was able to have a medium height faded hair cut and the scar was undectectable to the average person. I like having my hair short at times, but I would like to sport an almost "buzzed" look in the future. I'm thinking a few hundred FUEs into the scar would allow me to do this.

I suggest 9-12 months to make sure the scar has stabalized and the doctor knows what he is dealing with.
