5 months off Propecia

So, I hit the 5 month mark off Propecia. Physically, it feels great having the ,or ing erections back and the increased libido.

Hair has been thinning. I now find hairs everywhere in my house. 3 years on Propecia and I found so few hairs when cleaning.

Question: any one know a realistic time frame to get passed the 'catch-up' hair loss? Basically, have I by now lost all the hair I would have lost had I never got on Propecia and now back on my natural hair loss time frame?

Pretty difficult to say mate.

Give it 12 months off the meds and i think in that timescale your body will have had time to establish itself and the hair will have been under the kosh to establish its situ. Again difficult to say exactly but realistically you need give it time.

Can I ask you why you went off propecia in the first place?

yes, I simply got off propecia because of the fear of potential long-term sides. I know that as of right now there is no clinical data to support or negate that propecia can cause long-term sides but it's a possibility even if tiny. So, basically my fear around the potential (even if tiny) of a long-term side like ED became greater than my fear of losing my hair.

hence the decision to come off it. It's very possible that in a few years time clinical data will disapprove any long-term adverse effects from the use of fin but by that point I'll be a dude with very thin hair.

If you were going to have side effects they would have happen in the first year of taking the drug. I haven't heard anyone have them after being on the drug for many years. My pharmacist has been on it for 10 years with no sides. I've been on it for a year with no sides. Eventually some men have ED as they get older due to other issues. If I ever get ED there always Viagra lol. At least I will still have a great head of hair.*It would suck to have ED later in life with sever MPB.

Soxfaninfl, viagra only works to increase blood flow to the penis, so please don't make a decision about Propecia relying on that to fix you. Viagra will not undo any underlying damage done to your endocrine system.

Soxfaninfl, my point is not about a few personal accounts. It is simply that to date there isn't any clinical data to support or disprove that fin causes long-term sides. No one can say for sure (including Merck) that the drug does not cause long-term sides. Now, many personal accounts suggest there is no relationship between long-term ED and fin and many personal accounts suggest there is. I personally doubt that fin can cause long-term ED but of course I don't know for sure.

so, if the tiny chance that fin can cause long-term sides bothers you less than losing your hair than enjoy taking fin as it works amazing but pls remember there just isn't any data either way.

I cycle it off and on to reduce the long term effects.
