Default Question for relatively long hair NW2-3s on Rogaine Foam

Ive noticed that a lot of us on here are NW2-3s and are mostly scared about what the future holds in terms of NW patterns. So for those of you on rogaine and havent gone the buzzcut route yet, how do you tell if youve used enough rogaine foam?

I keep my hair relatively long for a guy, usually 2 months in between haircuts as im still at the phase where it looks thicker when its longer and it covers up my receding hairline somewhat. I put 4-5 "stripes" of rogaine all over the top of my head from hairline to crown and massage it in with my finger tips, but sometimes i feel as it mostly gets soaked up by my hair and doesnt reach the scalp, so im curious how do you guys tell youve properly applied it to your scalp

I'm the same, though my hair isn't very long, maybe about an inch and a half at the top and shorter on the sides.

I apply minox (rogaine foam) to my temples and crown and some in between.

It does seem to get soaked up by my hair quite a bit, because I'm only really using it on the crown as a preventative since I have minimal thinning there (NW2?).
The best way to apply it is to dot it around then just push it down, don't massage it in or it's lost in the hair, literally put a blob in and squish it down, then rub it around.
You'll still lose lots on the hair, that's unavoidable.

I got through a 3 month supply in about 2 months because I have 'too much' hair for rogaine.
Guess it's a catch 22 really, need to use it to get more hair, then when you've got it, or have it to maintain, it's harder use the foam.
